Great Day of Service

Team Captain:

Bruce Gunter

Forget the gym - time to work out for the cause. Join the fight to end hunger with a session of food sorting at our Atlanta warehouse. As a Product Rescue Center volunteer, you'll sort, organize and pack recently donated food and personal care products for distribution to over 600 local partner agencies. The personal reward of making a difference can't be replaced.

Team Captain:

Janice McKenzie-Crayton

Project is full!

Meals 4 Kids is our weekend and long-break backpack program. Volunteers pack meal bags that include nutritious foods and we then deliver the backpacks to our partner schools (primarily Title 1, APS) for weekends or long breaks. With this event taking place in May during the last week of school, we know that our partner schools would appreciate giving out the backpacks before summer break.

Team Captain:

Dennis Creech

Volunteers will learn about the history of this historic greenspace and dynamic community from neighborhood leader and Executive Director of the Conservancy at Historic Washington Park, Ms. Christi Jackson. Project tasks include moving existing bed edging, digging up grass in expanded bed area, removing overgrown ornamental shrubs, planting new herbs, planting native flowers, weeding and mulching the expanded bed and adjacent trees.
