High-quality early childhood education has been shown to improve graduation rates, lifetime earnings and health outcomes across communities while reducing drug abuse, teen pregnancy and incarceration rates. And that’s just a start.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens recently announced a historic $20 million investment in early childhood education to give Atlanta’s youngest citizens the strong start they need to succeed later – not just in school, but in life. He has pledged $5 million from the city, another $5 million from the Atlanta Public Schools and has called on the private sector to contribute another $10 million.
