Dr. Tim Shriver is a leading educator co-founder of the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), the leading school reform organization in the field of social and emotional learning. As chairman of Special Olympics, Dr. Tim Shriver has spent his life in service of people with intellectual disabilities – and drawn inspiration from them.
In a memorable talk to the Rotary Club of Atlanta today, Dr. Shriver acknowledged the pervasive feeling – on the eve of an all-consuming mid-term election – that even as we yearn for stability, we get only uncertainty. Where we seek connection, we find division. And he shared ideas for a new way to view the world, drawn from his recently released book Fully Alive and inspired by his life’s work as an educator and advocate for people on the margins.
